Naming Your Projects
To enhance your experience with INform54, we recommend adopting standardized naming conventions for your projects—a practice that many of our clients have found invaluable.
Here are several key benefits of implementing uniform naming guidelines:
Consistency: Establishing a structured naming system fosters consistency across teams, offices, and practice groups, ensuring everyone is aligned.
Organization: A logical naming convention makes it easier to manage projects and streamline searches for both open and completed tasks in a collaborative software environment like INform54.
Clarity: Clearly named projects allow team members to quickly understand their purpose and content without needing to delve into the project's detailed view.
Collaboration: Reducing ambiguity helps keep all team members on the same page, particularly in projects involving multiple contributors.
Searchability: A standardized naming approach improves retrieval efficiency, enabling users to swiftly locate what they need based on familiar naming patterns.
Training: Standardised names greatly assist in onboarding new team members, facilitating their understanding and application of established conventions.
Avoid using abbreviations, initials, and/or codes that aren't commonly understood and if you use a name more than once, provide additional details in the Project Name for the second, third, fourth and so on use of the name. Document these guidelines and share them with your entire team for effective implementation. Here are a few examples for reference:
